Seattle-based Starbuck Coffee has ended it’s wi-fi relationship with T-Mobile and replaced it with AT&T starting this spring. Before, you had to have a monthly plan at $19.99 a month or pay $9.99 for a 24 hour period. Under the new plan,
But the new AT&T plan allows all customers 2 free hours per day, with a $3.99 fee for additional 2-hour chunks of time. Monthly subscriptions will cost $19.99 and will enable access to other AT&T hot-spot locations in addition to Starbucks.
In addition, those who have AT&T broadband can get free access at Starbucks as well. Starbucks will still honor those who have T-Mobile hotspot subscriptions, one has to wonder for how long. Free two hours of internet surfing plus $3.99 for two hours is a lot better than spending $9.99 for about 1 to 2 hours, even though it’s good for 24 hours. Now does this mean you won’t be able to get a seat at Starbucks because all will be taken by those with notebooks? Good thing I’m not a coffee person!
