World of Warcraft’s ‘Lich King’ shatters sales record

The third expansion pack to the popular on line gaming series ‘World of Warcraft’ has broken the record for most game units sold in a 24 hours. What’s not included is the $15 monthly fee users have to pay in order to play the game.

The new World of Warcraft add-on “Wrath of the Lich King” sold a whopping 2.8 million units in its first 24 hours. That’s at $40 a pop, for more than $100 million in first-day sales.

I wonder which version my cousin got, the $40 no thrills add-on or the $70 ‘collectors edition’ version with useless trading cards that were added to boost the price? Guess I won’t be seeing him over the Thanksgiving holidays!
