The sun has set at WCDV-FM (Sunny 103.3FM, Baton Rouge) and replaced with Seattle’s rainy weather with ‘103.3FM Gen X’ radio. The ‘Gen X’ format consists of mostly pop, hip-hop and alternative music from 1990s – with some music the 00s – from bands like Dave Matthews Band, Red Hit Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Spice Girls, and Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott. The new format is aimed at the 18-34 demo market; the same group the ‘Gen X’ format is targeted towards has moved away from listening to music on the radio, CDs and cassette tapes to MP3 players and streaming sites like Pandora radio.
103.3FM becomes the third station to use the ‘Gen X’ format behind Louisville, Ky and Tulsa, OK.
