HD-DVD is dead, really! It is!

If you were holding out hope that HD-DVD would come back from the dead, the nail is going deeper into the coffin.  Netflix has announced that they will stop buying HD-DVD movies at the end of the year and will supply only Blu-Ray.  What will happen to the current supply of HD-DVD movies is unknown and if you rent a HD-DVD movie, can you keep it?

The decision was based on the following factors:

Netflix said the decision was based on the fact that four of the six major studios have publicly declared exclusive support for Blu-ray. The biggest one, of course, was Warner Bros. which made its announcement last month on the eve of the CES show in Las Vegas.
