After a three month hiatus, I’m finally back online and ready to start a new chapter in this online saga. And there are plenty of new items to discuss, most notable a new name – OpenBayou. I’ve been saving this name for a couple of years and I wanted to turn OpenBayou into a blogging platform where selected members were giving a place to write and share revenue. I never got around to setting it up and just squatted on the name, hoping to find use for the domain.
How did I come up with the name? It’s not as complex as it sounds.
The bayou part involves of where I lived most – if not, all – of my life. I was born and raised outside of New Orleans, Louisiana in the bayou and everyday I had to cross a bayou, no matter which direction I was going.
The first part deals with how I live my life, open.
Combine the two and you get the name, OpenBayou.
Besides the name, I’ll be expanding into areas beyond technology – news, politics, sports as well as personal stores about me and the photos I take. I’m also trying out comedy pieces with the sole purpose of not trying to be funny but to get a major media outlet to report one of my satire pieces as fact.
