Phishing scam hits Twitter

Twitter users are being informed of a phishing scam being sent via direct messaging. Do not click on these domains as they take you to a website that looks like the Twitter homepage but is not the actual web site for Twitter.

These are the messages that are circulating the social network:

hey! check out this funny blog about you… jannawalitax . blogspot . com

Hey, i found a website with your pic on it… LOL check it out here twitterblog . access-logins . com / login

Tech blogger Chris Pirillo reports that the web site is registered in China while the company does acknowledge that a phishing scene is active on the micro-blogging site

“Tonight, we identified a phishing scam directed at Twitter users and immediately communicated as much information as possible to limit anyone who may have been tricked into giving out their passwords” a company spokesperson wrote on the Twitter blog.

I have not received these messages and I advise anyone that receives these message to deleted them and not click on them.
